Nicole Kimberling, the editor of Blind Eye Books, has given me the edits for the first chapter of Highfell Grimoires. She said she liked the language (she called it “sparkling”) as well as the characterization. But I do have some work to do.
I’m excited to improve the language and story alike under her tutelage. I still have much to learn and I think the most interesting part of this process is that I get the chance to dig in and really figure out what’s going on in my own prose. I know it’s impossible to write a perfect first draft, but the closer I get to doing it right the first time around, the better and easier my future writing adventures will be.
